Shred-A-Thon Medication Take Back

The River Church, in partnership with Alliance Health and local community organizations, is hosting a Shred-A-Thon and Medication Take-Back eventโ€”an important community service designed to promote safety, health, and environmental care.

This upcoming event will give residents a free and secure way to dispose of personal documents and a safe method for returning unused or expired medications. By combining these two vital services, The River Church aims to help protect community members from identity theft while keeping harmful substances out of homes, landfills, and local waterways.

Community members are invited to stop by for the convenient drive-through setup, where volunteers will be available to assist with boxes and ensure a smooth, stress-free experience. Participants can bring documents for shredding and prescription or over-the-counter medications, syringes, inhalers, and ointments for safe disposal.

This event highlights the power of partnership between faith-based organizations, healthcare agencies, and public safety departments, working together to build a cleaner, safer, and healthier Durham community.
